[005] — Spin Control
Spin Control Skull Cap
A product film for the Spin Control skull cap, from concept through final cut.
[01] The Brief
Spin Control needed a product film for their skull cap: a piece that could sell the product while looking and moving like content people actually want to watch.
The brand has range. What began in 2017 in the San Francisco Bay Area with a single product has grown into a global name in the breaking community, with operations across the USA, EU, Japan, and Canada: innovative products for breakers, world-class events, and collaborations with industry giants.
[02] The Campaign
The campaign unveiled the Skull Cap, designed to be the most versatile and functional cap on the market. From concept to completion the team handled every detail: shooting, producing, editing, and design.
Curt Rage and Kid Break brought the perfect energy to the project, with an original approach to dance that made them the ideal talent for the campaign. Alongside the hero spot, the campaign shipped short form cuts and motion graphics built to keep the launch moving across formats.
[03] My Role
I helped shape how the launch itself was packaged. The initial idea was a straightforward product video; I developed it further into a series of individual interviews with Curt Rage and Kid Break, laced with demo footage, so the campaign delivered a concrete review of the product alongside the traditional launch spot.
This is the kind of independent commercial work I have produced since 2018: story development, creative strategy, production, and post all under one roof.
I carried the spot from concept through delivery (producing, shooting, and editing), working alongside Greg Fisk on design and motion, with photography by Hiro Nakamura and an original soundtrack from DJ Fleg.
